It's National Ice Cream Day!

Inside Scoop Murphy Ramos

Sunday July 21st is National Ice Cream Day! To pay tribute to one of our favorite holidays we have rounded up a list of must-try ice cream shops in and around LA. Bon Appetit!

Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain

1526 Mission St., South Pasadena, CA 91030

Why we love it: Originating in 1915 this Route 66 landmark is straight out of our retro ice cream shoppe dreams! You can stop in for a whole meal or just a good old fashioned ice cream sundae and if you are really brave (and hungry) you can even try the famous Kitchen Sink Challenge.

Magpies Softserve

18971 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, CA 91356

2660 Griffith Park Blvd, Silver Lake, CA 90039

Why we love it: We just love soft serve and that Magpies has so many chef-y yet kid-friendly flavors. There are a lot of  tasty Vegan options as well (our fave is the orange yuzu creamsicle). We also love that they are open late so we can grab a cone after the kids go to bed and not have to share ;)

National Ice Cream Day

The Milk Shop

7290 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036

1639 Silverlake Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90026

Why we love it: This ice cream parlor and bake shop has everything to satisfy your sweet tooth from scratch made locally sourced ice cream to decadent fruity pebbles cookies. P.s. their cookies and cream is insane! Our kids literally ask to go here every.damn.day.

Creamology Cereal Bar

13634 Burbank Blvd., Sherman Oaks, CA 91401

Why we love it: This hidden gem takes the classic combo of cereal and milk to a whole new level by blending your fave cereals into ice cream for a delectable treat!

CVT Softserve

Stalk them via social media for locations (although more often than not we find one parked outside of Islands in Sherman Oaks)

Why we love it: CVT is good, classic soft-serve ice cream from an ice cream truck which is equally as nostalgic as it is satisfying. Good old fashioned vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles is heavenly after all! It also doesn't hurt that it can easily be found parked locally.

Cauldron Ice Cream

Check their site for locations (linked above)

Why we love it: Originators of the puffle cone, Cauldron is a must try. Our kids love how cool the liquid nitrogen looks as it gets added to the mixing bowl! Not gonna lie tho, this one is definitely filed under: Do it for the 'gram...

Big Softee

128 S. Atlantic Blvd., Monterey Park, CA 91754

Why we love it: If you're up for the drive you can't go wrong with giant swirls of soft serve with Asian inspired flavors like Mango Jasmine Tea and Black Sesame Soy. Yum!

A lot of chains are even doing freebies and giveaways to celebrate. The list includes Coldstone, Pressed Juicery, Yogurtland, and even PetSmart  click here to find out more!!! 🍦🍧🍒
