Halloween Dinner in a Flash!
Halloween is only a few days away!! If you are looking for a quick and easy dinner with a spooky theme, look no further. We got you covered with 2 entree options, spooky punch, and one versatile and dessert!
What you need:
English Muffins
Mozzarella cheese (we used Tillamook because its delicious and also because they have a large shred which was perfect for these pizza mummies)
Pizza sauce
Olives
Hot dogs
Crescent roll dough or puff pastry dough
Pumpkin Bread/Muffin mix
Candy Eyes
Vanilla frosting
Vegetable oil
Eggs
Gummy eye balls
Sprinkles
Simply Limeade
Poprocks
Ice
Eyeball Punch
Line punch bowl with gummy eyeballs. Add limeade, water, and ice. The water is to dilute the limeade so our little monsters don't bounce off the walls. Fill cups with more eyeballs and pop rocks. Pour limeade into cups. The poprocks make the punch sizzle! For a creepy float, add a scoop of lime sherbet to cups before pouring.
Mummy Pizzas
Put english muffins on a baking sheet. Top with tomato sauce and 2 olive eyes. Place cheese over the top. We drizzled the pizzas with a little bit of olive oil for flavor and sprinkled on some salt and pepper to taste. Bake at 375 until the cheese melts and the english muffins get toasty.
Mummy Hot dogs
Roll out your crescent roll dough so that the perforations are no longer visible. Cut into long strips. Wrap hot dogs. Bake at 375 until dough is cooked through (about 13-16 minutes). Our slices were not quite thin enough to create a real mummy look, but you can still see it if you squint really hard.
Pumpkin Cake and Cupcakes
So usually we love to make stuff from scratch but since this is about Halloween dinner in a flash, we used a box mix. I do have to say that this particular mix is a fave! These are great for the whole season, not just Halloween.
Step 1: Follow directions on box and bake. This one is fun because you add an entire can of pumpkin. This box is big enough to make 36 cupcakes, or 2 loaves of pumpkin bread, or in our case 12 pumpkin muffins, 24 cupcakes, and one pumpkin shaped cake that looked more creepy than cute once it was baked... This mix comes with icing so to decorate the muffins this is what we drizzled over the top before we added candy eyes. To decorate the cupcakes we frosted the muffins with vanilla frosting and green sprinkles. Then we added these gummy eyeballs to make it extra spooky.
