Monster Krispies
Around here we are always excited for Halloween! With September quickly coming to an end, we are getting all the Halloween feels already, so we are kicking it all off with these super cute (and easy) Monster Krispies.

What you need:
Your favorite puffed rice cereal
1 bag of marshmallows
3 tablespoons of butter (or margarine, or I would imagine you can use coconut oil too) plus a little extra for your hands
Food coloring gels
Candy eye balls (we scored these at Target)
Monster Krispies
First, melt your marshmallows with your butter (or butter substitute) in the microwave. You can also do this on the stove top but it takes a bit longer and we find it to be a bit messier. Microwave on high for 3 minutes but he sure to stir it up around the halfway point.

Separate the marshmallow mixture into several bowls (we used three bowls because we made three different colors). Add desired color food gel to each bowl and stir. Pro tip: use big bowls so you can mix the rice cereal directly into the colored marshmallows (the bulls we used we're a tad bit on the small side which made things more difficult than they needed to be 🤣)

Next, stir in the rice cereal. The easiest way to do this is to use a buttered rubber spatula. You have to work kind of quickly here so the marshmallows don't set before you're done. The ratio of cereal to marshmallow is 6 cups: 1 bag. So for the three colors we used roughly 2 cups of cereal for each color.
Butter up your hands and form balls with your marshmallow/krispie mix. We placed them onto a buttered cookie sheet to set for decorating.
Finally, add candy eye balls and voila you now have super tasty, super cute, super easy Monster Krispies.
